At the heart of a major service center in Arcueil, SADEV94, the city’s developer, wanted a sustainable building, including the use of wood in the construction system. Kaufman & Broad is pursuing this ambition by choosing to use recycled and reused materials.
The most demanding labels
The building meets the criteria of numerous labels and certifications (E+/C – , Biosourced, WiredScore, HQE, BREEAM, WELL) in order to guarantee the best comfort of use to the occupants and the good value of its asset to the investor.
Favor biosourced and recycled materials
The building is built in a mixed wood/concrete structure. Its wooden facade was a real challenge for the designers. It is clad with 90% recycled fiberglass. Inside, 8,000 sq.m of false floor tiles were recovered and then reconditioned for reuse. In the bathrooms, the mosaic is made of recycled glass paste. This approach echoes Kaufman & Broad’s commitment to “Booster du Réemploi,” (Reuse Booster) which promotes the reuse of materials in the building industry.
Kaufman & Broad, which has been developing advanced technical expertise in wood construction for several years, selected the Mootz/Pelé architectural firm, in association with the CALQ agency, renowned for its expertise in office buildings and wood construction.
A new standard of well-being at work
Green Oak prefigures the latest trends in workplace well-being, rewarded by WELL certification. With 85% of its surface area in first daylight, the building offers work spaces open to the city and to the exterior on each floor (loggias and accessible terraces) and provides spaces for relaxation or informal meetings conducive to collaborative work. On the first floor, an “Eat & Work” space combines catering and meeting facilities.
Innovative, these spaces will be equipped with connected refrigerators allowing to offer dishes throughout the day while providing places for informal meetings. On the top floor, a double-height, generously glazed volume, panoramic and open to two vast terraces, overlooks the metropolis to host events.
